This is about summer internships with the State of North Carolina, and there are a lot of Communications internships out there in a variety of subject areas. In just glancing through this, if anyone is interested in PR and Public Schools, Museums/History, Parks/Recreation, Citizen Science, Government Affairs, etc., there are internships available. It does seem like most are in Raleigh, but not exclusively.

On November 14 at 6 p.m. we had a SPJ Workshop hosted by Ceillie Simkiss titled “Social Media Verification, or how to not make an ass of yourself on the internet.” It was a really good workshop that started out with a picture of a vampire deer (with antlers) and the question was posed, is this real? How do we verify this?
We were then taken through a list of websites to know how to verify, here are just the ones we talked about:
